I have never come close to running accross another early Fender Stratocaster in this condition and color. Experts who have been doing this for more than fourty years concur. Without a doubt one of the best stratocasters in the world for the collector. So if strats is your thing, make your best offer, cause this is a once in a lifetime guitar.

There may be no more than a handful in the world in this color and condition if that many. By contrast, they made at least 1500 bursts. a good chunk are very plainly figured or outright plaintops.
I ve owned it for a few years and had the pleasure of playing it twice. It belongs in a museum really. Most people concur on that.

This is the very guitar that was pictured earlier this month on the FRONT COVER of Vintage Guitar Magazine (October 2008 Vol.22 No. 12). She has been known for years as The Bearded Lady due to the patch of Red left relatively unfaded where a Bigsby had been previously installed decades ago!. She is a 100% ORIGINAL 1959 Les Paul Standard...THE REAL DEAL. No repaired cracks or other red flags. This is a players 59 and she has the battle scars to prove it. If you want a CLEAN 59 then she is not your girl but if you want the TONE that most people can only dream about this guitar has it in spades - which is why she has been played so much all these years! Besides the filled holes on her butt where the Bigsby was attached and a pro refret, all else is ORIGINAL.
