The Patch 2000 was the first syntheziser guitar on the market. It can be used together with most syntherzisers ( Ampeg Patch 2000 was made specifically for the guitar). The patch 2000 is built up around the very popular Hagström Swede guitar. The frets and strings are connected to a digital electronic circuit on a small PC-board installed in the guitar body. The frets are ordinary and can easily be replaced. Each fret-string combination has its own digital code. When hooked up to a regular syntheziser you play the syntheziser just by fretting the strings. The syntheziserll plays the same as if it was played from the keyboard. You can also play the guitar normaly at the same time. The pick ups and guitar electronics are completely separated from the electronics of the syntheziser. This made a huge difference between the Patch 2000 and other synther guitars. You can play the syntheziser with one handand it will sustain until you release the string from the fret. On the pick guard there is a switch for switching on/off the syntheziser-effects. The guitar has a normal standard jack and one for the synth. The development started in 1975 when twelve guitars were to be made for a music convention. Only 498 right hand models were ever made from 1976 to 1979 and 11 left handed models. Type: Amazing electric guitar from the seventies,designed by the famous James D Aquisto from New York.Model: Jimmy... Top of the line semi-acoustic electric guitar at Hagstrom. It is still today a very high quality professional instrument and its rarity makes it a great collector s value. Period: 1979 Condition: The guitar is in an absolutely mint condition, as if it just came out of the factory. The original natural finish is spotless, there is no marks of any kind on the guitar. The instrument was kept in a temperature and humidity controlled environment for more than 25 years. It was very rarely played through the years and exclusively for special studio recordings. Accessories: Comes with a new original Hagstrom tweed hardshell case, including key.
